We designed this trip all around what it means to live in the mountains during the summer: swimming holes and beer! We start this trip in the mid morning, after the day has had a chance to get nice and warm. We will drive out of town on the spectacular Blue Ridge Parkway to one of the most incredible swimming holes in the area. We will have a short hike to this top secret swimming hole that is known by few. The seclusion of this spot allows us plenty of quiet space to spread out and take in the cool mountain water under the hot sun. Once we have finished baking on the warm rocks along the bank, we will take the short and scenic hike back to our transportation. After winding through the Blue Ridge Parkway one last time, we will conclude at New Belgium Brewery, located right along the banks of the French Broad River where we can soak up the eclectic River Arts district and round out the perfect Asheville day with a beer.
Come explore the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and quaint communities surrounding Asheville on this scenic bike ride up to the Blue Ridge Parkway and back down Elk Mountain. We’ll cruise through a quiet North Asheville neighborhood and then begin our ascent to the parkway where we’ll experience gorgeous expansive views of the Southern Appalachian Mountains amidst the lush temperate forests. After about 20 miles of breathtaking riding, we’ll head to One World Brewery and enjoy the rest of what we’re famous for here in Asheville.
NB - if tour does not show available pls contact Brass Monkey Photography, there are system errors on Tripadvisor/Viator with our products. We shall hike c. 2.5 - 3 miles with approx. 60 mins of hiking. Following a 30 minute drive, we hike to the top of the falls which is about a 30-35 minute hike. En route we discover plant life in the region and watch & listen for wildlife. At the summit we will marvel at the beauty of the falls and enjoy a continental breakfast (sitting on rocks or on the side, there are no picnic tables/chairs). It's beautiful & rustic, as mother nature intended!Bring a camera, there are lots of things along the way in addition to the falls. Wear sneakers/hiking boots and dress in layers. It can start out much colder in the morning. Guests should be in good physical shape and able to hike at a steady pace on a constant climb for 1.5 miles in each direction (up to 3 miles roundtrip). There may be a brook to cross over or a few rocky areas.
On these Private Waterfall Tours, you will get to enjoy the falls up close and with ease. We specializes in taking tours to hidden gems and locally-known waterfalls, uncluttered by foot traffic and crowds.
