We Care Clean
For nearly 75-years, Best Western® Hotels & Resorts has been an industry leader in our reputation for providing clean, well-maintained accommodations for our valued guests. In 2012, we became the first hotel brand to set a high level of cleanliness with the roll out of the successful I Care Clean program in partnership with IDEO. At the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were among the first in the industry to roll out standards and best practices to enhance our cleaning protocol.
In order to continue to refine our cleaning protocol, we have worked with our advisory committees and Governors to collect best practices and refine our guidelines. After several weeks of exhaustive work and based upon guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Health Canada, we are proud to introduce new guidelines and standards for Best Western-branded hotels: the We Care Clean℠ program*.
A hotel’s housekeeping and maintenance attributes are among the most important components analyzed during the on-site evaluation conducted by AAA’s professionally trained inspectors. While every hotel must meet rigorous standards of cleanliness and condition to qualify for the AAA Diamond Program, hotels awarded the Inspector’s Best Of Housekeeping designation significantly surpass expectations, as measured during a comprehensive, on-site inspection. All areas must reflect this very high standard as AAA inspectors review for evidence of dirt, dust, pests, equipment performance and more.
